On-Site Membrane Generated Nitrogen Systems

The Process

Takes compressed air and feeds it through an air treatment system. This system removes the oil and water condensate 'carry over' from the air compressors, and then filters any hydrocarbons, along with other gases from the air.

The clean compressed air is fed through the modules containing polymer fibre air separators. These fibres are each the diameter of a human hair, and are hollow.

'Fast gases', in this case oxygen and water vapour, permeate through the walls of the fibre, and are vented to atmosphere as an enriched oxygen gas, typically between 30-40% 0_. The 'slow gas', nitrogen, flows to the end of the polymer fibre, where it is collected and fed into the product line.
